Terms & Conditions

The terms that apply when you order from Uncle Jee, including products, delivery, cancellations, refunds and consumer rights.

Last reviewed 10 October 2026

The short version

You must be 18 or over to order, and nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights.

The minimum consumer order is £35 in products, excluding delivery charges. Any delivery fee is shown before you pay.

Fresh and other rapidly perishable foods have different change-of-mind cancellation rules from non-perishable goods.

1. About us

Uncle Jee is the trading name of Imran Ahmad. Business address: Unit 12, Hainault rd, Leyton, E11 1hd. Email: salaam@unclejee.co.uk. Telephone: 0203 355 5081. Website: Unclejee.co.uk.

These terms apply to purchases for personal or household use. Please contact us before placing orders for resale, catering or other business purposes so that appropriate trade terms can be agreed.

2. Placing an order

You must be aged 18 or over to order from us, provide accurate contact and delivery details, and use a payment method you are authorised to use.

Before submitting your order, check the products, quantities, delivery address and any delivery instructions.

The minimum order for personal or household purchases is £35 of products before delivery charges. Delivery fees do not count towards the minimum. This does not change any separately stated free-delivery threshold or trade-account terms.

Our initial order acknowledgement confirms that we have received your order. We accept your order, and a contract is formed, when we send you a dispatch confirmation, unless we expressly confirm acceptance earlier.

We may decline an order before acceptance if a product is unavailable, payment cannot be authorised, the address is outside our delivery area or we reasonably suspect fraud. If money has been taken for products we cannot supply, the relevant amount will be refunded.

3. Your account

If you create an account, keep your details accurate and your login information secure. Contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

We may restrict or suspend an account where reasonably necessary to investigate suspected fraud, protect security or address serious misuse. This does not remove your rights relating to orders already accepted.

4. Products, descriptions and weights

We aim to describe products accurately, including contents, quantities, preparation and whether they are supplied chilled or frozen.

Meat is a natural product, so colour, shape, marbling and the appearance of individual cuts may vary. Photographs are illustrative unless the description says otherwise.

The product listing explains whether an item is sold by fixed weight, within a stated weight range or by quantity. Any approximate weight or preparation allowance is explained before purchase.

Claims about halal status, certification, origin or production methods apply as stated in the relevant product description. Contact us before ordering if you need more information about a particular product.

5. Availability and substitutions

Products are subject to availability.

If an item becomes unavailable after we accept your order, we will contact you to offer an alternative, a revised delivery arrangement or a refund for the unavailable item.

We will obtain your agreement before substituting a product. You do not have to accept a substitute or store credit instead of a refund.

6. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable. Delivery charges and any other compulsory charges are shown before you place your order.

Payment is collected using the payment method selected at checkout. If payment is taken before acceptance, this does not itself mean we have accepted your order.

Price changes do not affect orders already accepted. If we discover a pricing error before accepting your order, we will explain the correct price and give you the choice of proceeding or cancelling.

7. Delivery

We deliver to the locations shown in our delivery information and supported at checkout. Available delivery options, charges and timing are displayed before you order.

Please provide a complete address, accurate contact details and any information needed to access the property. Arrange for someone to receive and promptly store perishable products.

We will deliver within the agreed period. Where no delivery period has been agreed, we will deliver without undue delay and within 30 days of accepting your order.

We remain responsible for the goods during delivery by a carrier we arrange. Responsibility passes when you, or a person you have nominated to receive the goods, takes physical possession.

If you request delivery to a neighbour or an unattended location, the available arrangements will be explained before you agree to them. A courier delivery scan alone does not remove our legal responsibilities.

8. Receiving and storing your products

Unpack your order promptly and follow the storage, use-by, freezing and cooking instructions supplied with each product.

If an item appears damaged, has leaked or you believe its temperature or condition may make it unsafe, do not eat it and contact us promptly.

Where safe and practical, keep the packaging, label and batch details and take photographs to help us investigate.

9. Ingredients and allergens

Relevant ingredient and allergen information will be available before purchase and provided with your delivery as required.

Review this information each time you order, as recipes and ingredients can change. Check the label before preparing or consuming a product.

Do not assume a product is free from a particular allergen unless we expressly describe it that way.

10. Changing or cancelling an order

Contact us as soon as possible if you want to change or cancel your order. We will confirm whether we can accommodate your request and explain any agreed price adjustment.

The statutory change-of-mind cancellation right does not apply to goods liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly, including fresh meat and other qualifying perishable foods.

For these products, we will accept cancellation and provide a full refund if we receive your request before preparation or dispatch has begun. Once preparation or dispatch has begun, we may be unable to accept a change-of-mind cancellation.

For products covered by the statutory cancellation right, you may normally cancel without giving a reason from the time you order until 14 days after you receive them. Return and refund rules then apply as set out in the full terms.

11. Missing, incorrect or faulty products

You are entitled to products that are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.

If something is missing, incorrect, damaged or otherwise unsatisfactory, contact us as soon as reasonably possible with your order number and a description of the problem.

Depending on the circumstances, you may be entitled to a refund, replacement or price reduction. Prompt reporting is particularly helpful for perishable food, but we do not impose a blanket 24-hour reporting deadline that removes your statutory rights.

Refunds use your original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise, without a refund fee.

12. Offers and discount codes

Each promotion is subject to the conditions shown with it, including any expiry date, minimum spend or product exclusions.

We may decline a code that has expired, does not meet the stated conditions or has been obtained or used fraudulently.

13. Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.

These terms cover consumer purchases. Nothing in them excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of your statutory rights or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

14. Privacy and website use

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal information. Our Cookie & Browser Storage Policy explains our use of cookies and similar technologies. Both are available in Trust & legal.

Please use the website lawfully. You must not attempt unauthorised access, interfere with its operation or introduce harmful software.

15. Complaints

Please send complaints to salaam@unclejee.co.uk, including your order number where available.

We will investigate and aim to respond within 3 working days. If more time is needed, we will explain the next steps.

16. Changes and general terms

The version of these terms in force when you place your order applies to that order. Later updates apply to future orders.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you retain the protection of any mandatory consumer laws that apply where you live.
